Japanese (Nihongo) - Minasan konnichiwa! It has been another busy term so far in Japanese. Both Stage 2 and 3 have been engaged in learning new concepts this term. Stage 2 have been looking at Japanese animals and how to say the names of animals they would find in our country. Students have illustrated and described their chosen animal in Japanese. Stage 3 have been busy learning how to tell the time in Japanese and how to talk about activities they may carry out during the day. Students have continued to be challenged to use the Japanese script ‘Hiragana’ to write profiles of anime characters to illustrate their understanding. To add to a busy classroom schedule all of Year 6 and 5/6S are getting ready to perform two Christmas Carols at this year’s Carols night on the Friday 30 November. Students sound fantastic and are all looking forward to an energetic and entertaining evening. Currently I am seeing some fantastic progress of students learning language here at Pottsville Beach Public School. I look forward to receiving feedback from surrounding high schools when student’s currently completing Year 6 filter through to try language learning at high school. Keep up the great work everyone. Ganbatte minasan!
