The NSW Department of Education has revised the School Uniform Policy and associated guidelines following an extensive review and consultation process, which included the NSW Parents and Citizens Association. The revised School Uniform Policy requirements include that:
- all students have the opportunity to access the full range of school activities, including physical activities while wearing a school uniform
- girls must have the option to wear shorts and pants
- consideration is given to cost and how to assist families, including for schools to inform parents how they can access financial support to purchase school uniform items.
The revised School Uniform Policy and associated guidelines can be found on our school's website. Where changes are required to a school's uniform, there must be formal consultation with students, teachers and other staff, parents or carers, and the school community (including the Parents and Citizens' Association). This process is currently under way for a change of aligning our winter options of warmer clothing. The very smart looking fleece lined top is on display in the admin foyer. Parents and carers should be given up to three years to comply with any changes.
Our school expects students to wear their uniform during school hours, while travelling to and from school and when engaged in school activities out of school hours. The P&C will be reviewing the revised School Uniform Policy and associated guidelines at the P&C meeting on Tuesday 7 August.
We hope that you can attend the P&C meeting to support our school in ensuring we meet the requirements of the revised School Uniform Policy. When all students wear our school uniform their personal safety is enhanced and a sense of belonging to our school community is created. A positive school identity is also promoted in our local community.

Proud To Wear Purple! P&C WINTER UNIFORM PROPOSAL
What is being reviewed?
- The purple jumper (costs $24)
- The black jumper (costs $24)
- Lightweight black & white jacket (costs $35)
- All other garments to remain the same
Proposed solution:
Replace existing jumper and jacket options with a newly designed garment that meets our specification of being:
- Warm
- Versatile with zip-up front
- Pockets with zips
- Unisex appeal
- Cheaper projected cost $30-32
- Reduces uniform variations, creating more uniformity
- Less confusing for parents when buying the uniform
- Satisfies feedback suggestions that ‘purple should feature' to reflect school identity
- Streamline stock within uniform shop (reduces costly, large volumes of stock required to offer all options in all sizes, which is difficult to manage)
The new jacket can be viewed in the school reception area, so come in and have a look for yourselves. If you have any further comments or questions, please feel free to see Sarah in the uniform shop on Tuesdays or come along to the P&C meeting to have your say.
