Thank you to our student leadership team who have been extremely busy all year assisting not only our school but those in need in the local community.
At assembly on Monday our SRC executive presented John from "You Have a Friend" with donations of food and toiletries as well as money donated by our students from the crazy hair and odd socks day. We were honoured to present John with a total of $604.05. "You Have a Friend" is a 100% not for profit organisation (no one is paid). The charity has 80 volunteers and an Op Shop in Machinery Drive, Tweed Heads South.Taking no funding from any governments, they support the homeless, marginalised and single parents and their children.
The charity provides over 300 meals plus fruit/vegetables and grocery items each week on the streets throughout the Tweed Shire.
Well done to everyone for supporting those less fortunate right on our doorstep.
Our Leadership team had a wonderful day on Monday celebrating the year with a picnic lunch and games at Mooball Creek. Well done team and congratulations on a fantastic year.
